French Muslim Leaders to Determine Eid al-Fitr 2023 Date at Paris Mosque Meeting

The Muslim federations of France will meet this Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 6 pm at the Grand Mosque of Paris in the presence of their religious commission as well as the imams of the National Council of Imams (CNI). The purpose of this meeting is to set the date of the Eid al-Fitr feast, marking the end of the month of Ramadan 2023-1444/H.
The religious commission will take into account two main criteria, it is explained in a press release. First, it will examine the results of the work on the adoption of scientific calculation and universal astronomical data to determine the beginning and end of the month of Ramadan. Then, it will take into account the result of the observation of the moon, in France and around the world.
According to scientific data, the Eid al-Fitr of the year 2023-1444/H will take place on Friday, April 21, 2023. The Muslim federations will announce the official date of Eid al-Fitr for Muslims in France at the end of the confirmation meeting on Thursday, April 20.
In their press release, the Muslim federations urge the faithful to multiply good deeds during the last days of the blessed month of Ramadan and to prepare to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with joy and sharing.
