French-Moroccan Man Arrested in Tangier for Alleged Rape and Theft in France

A Moroccan national, also holding French and Tunisian nationalities, was apprehended on Tuesday in Tangier, following an international arrest warrant issued by the French judicial authorities. He is suspected of being involved in a case of rape and theft in France.
The judicial police of Tangier were able to apprehend the suspect, aged 24, after identifying him in the Interpol databases. The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) specified, in a press release, that the suspect was under a red notice issued at the request of the French judicial authorities.
According to the first available information, the suspect is suspected of having committed a burglary at a woman’s home in France, where he would then have sequestered her, raped her, in addition to having stolen her personal effects in 2018.
The suspect was placed in custody, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to shed light on this case and identify all the criminal acts that could be attributed to him.
