French Fugitive Arrested in Morocco on International Warrant

The police arrested a Frenchman who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the French judicial authorities. This arrest took place in Marrakech.
The individual, aged 25, was illegally in Morocco and was in possession of a false passport. His arrest is part of international security cooperation and the efforts deployed by the Moroccan security services to track down people wanted internationally for cross-border crimes.
The check of the suspect in the Interpol database revealed that he was the subject of a red notice issued at the request of the National Central Bureau of Paris. The arrest warrant concerned a conviction for a prison sentence for attempted murder.
After his arrest, the suspect was taken into custody. Morocco will inform the French authorities of his arrest, which will pave the way for a possible extradition.
