France Issues 3.5 Million Visas in 2018; Moroccans Rank Third Among Recipients

France granted about 3.5 million visas during the year 2018, according to provisional statistics just published by the French Ministry of the Interior.
Moroccans are in third place among the beneficiaries with 334,016 visas issued, a slight increase compared to last year (323,570), behind the Chinese (875,994) and the Russians (372,451) and ahead of the Algerians (297,104), the Indians (268,239), the Tunisians (154,011), the Turks (125,290) and the Saudis who received 93,313 Schengen visas last year.
As for residence permits, Moroccans are in second place behind Algerians with 29,822 permits issued, compared to 30,869 for our neighbors.
It should be noted that the majority of visas issued by France are for tourism.
