US, France, and Spain Welcome Morocco's New Government Under PM Akhannouch

The day after the appointment of the new Moroccan government, Washington, Paris and Madrid sent their congratulations to the new team led by Aziz Akhannouch. They all expressed the wish to see bilateral relations strengthened with the kingdom.

The formation of the new government is eliciting reactions. On its Twitter account, the US embassy in Morocco expressed its satisfaction to see the kingdom equipping itself with a new team that will face global challenges alongside the United States.

"Congratulations to Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch and all the members of the new Moroccan government officially appointed by King Mohammed VI in Fez yesterday. We look forward to working with the new cabinet to deepen the strong partnership between the United States and Morocco in the areas of security, economy and culture, as we celebrate over 200 years of friendship," reads a tweet.

For its part, France first saluted the organization of the elections despite the difficult health conditions, a sign of democracy in progress in Morocco, before reaffirming its willingness to work with the Akhannouch government to "strengthen the partnership" with Rabat.

As for Spain, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation indicated in a press release that its country is willing to work with the new Moroccan government to adapt the bilateral "strategic partnership" to the challenges shared by the two countries.

And to add that "Morocco is a strategic partner, a neighbor and a friend with whom Spain wishes to continue to develop an exemplary and fruitful cooperation in multiple areas, thus contributing to regional stability and prosperity."
