Former Premier League Star Taarabt Rejected Liverpool Move to Stay in London’s Shisha Scene

Moroccan Adel Taarabat, one of the greatest players in Premier League history, had refused a transfer to Liverpool because he liked to frequent the shisha bars in London.
Highly appreciated by London supporters and even opposing supporters, the former Spurs player left his mark during his time in England. During his stay in London, Adel Taarabat, now 34 years old, refused to join Liverpool because he liked to frequent the shisha bars.
"I know players who played in London and had no interest in leaving London. Liverpool had been interested in him for some time. I told him: ’What are you thinking?’ He replied: ’I won’t leave London, no matter the amount!’" his former teammate Darren Bent told talkSPORT.
And he added: "I said: ’Yes, but look at the size of the club’. He tells me: ’Benty, every day I train, I finish, King’s Road, shisha! I don’t want to leave London.’" After his failed transfer to Liverpool, Taarabt was loaned to Fulham after QPR’s relegation in 2013. A year later, he joined AC Milan in Italy. Currently, Taarabt plays for Al-Nasr in the United Arab Emirates.
