Former Official Investigated for Attempted Murder of Benslimane Commune President

A former commune president in Benslimane, assisted by his son, allegedly failed in his attempt to assassinate his successor. The latter filed a complaint with the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Casablanca, to which he attached a video incriminating the two suspects. An investigation for attempted murder is underway.

The elements of the judicial service of the Benslimane gendarmerie opened an investigation on Friday, April 1, for attempted murder after a complaint filed by the president of the Ahlaf commune, who took over the reins of this commune on September 8, 2021. While driving a dilapidated service car that he had repaired, he almost became the victim of a road accident. To his great surprise, "the car began to swerve to the left and right and almost went off the road before he could control and stop it abruptly," reports Assabah.

The elected official immediately went to the mechanic to report this failure. During the inspection of the car, the mechanic discovered the sabotage. Viewing the cameras installed in his garage allowed him to discover that two individuals - who turned out to be the former president of the Ahlaf commune and his son - had entered his premises and opened the hood of the car to flood the engine with small nails. The elected official then filed a complaint against the two suspects for attempted murder, to which he attached a video incriminating them and the mechanic’s testimony.
