Moroccan Authorities Probe Alleged Murder Attempt on Ex-Lawmaker in Sidi Slimane

The royal gendarmerie of El Ksiba in the province of Sidi Slimane is investigating the attempted murder of former deputy Driss Radi and former leader of the Constitutional Union (UC). Several hearings have already been recorded.
Former deputy Driss Radi had accused his brother Said of attempted murder with his car during the last days of the election campaign for the last elections and had filed a complaint against him, reports Assabah. In this complaint, he had requested "the opening of a judicial investigation against his brother, the president of the urban commune of Sidi Slimane and all the persons who would be involved in the constitution of a criminal gang, attempted murder and incitement to violence".
The elements of the royal gendarmerie of El Ksiba have questioned the plaintiff, the accused brother, the president of the commune of Sidi Slimane as well as the witnesses of the two parties. The content of a video shows the car of the former leader of the Cheval party hit in the rear in a "premeditated" manner during the last days of the election campaign. Incidents that occurred at a time when the political battle was raging between the sons of the two brothers (Yassine and Noureddine) in electoral districts No. 18 and 19 around the commune of El Ksiba.
Driss Radi’s son (Yassine) was elected member of the House of Representatives and president of the urban commune of Sidi Slimane. As for the son of his brother Said (Noureddine), he was a candidate for the RNI.
