Moroccan Politician’s Trial for Alleged Assassination Attempt on Brother Delayed

The court of first instance of Sidi Slimane has decided to postpone to December 22 the trial of Saïd Radi, president of the commune, also a member of the agricultural chamber of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, accused of having tried to assassinate his brother, the former deputy Driss, during the last elections.
Saïd Radi and two other Sidi Slimane politicians are being prosecuted for assault and attempted murder as part of the trial postponed to December 22, reports Al Akhbar. This trial follows the complaint filed by the former deputy Driss Radi and former leader of the Constitutional Union (UC) against his brother Saïd, whom he accuses of attempted murder with his car during the last days of the election campaign.
The plaintiff stated that while he was driving his car, he was hit by another vehicle where his brother was. Accusations rejected by Saïd Radi who believes that his "brother was jealous of his popularity in the commune of Ksiba where he was a candidate with his son Noureddine". This is what would justify the fact that he went down to this constituency, surrounded by 22 "bouncers" of large stature. It was therefore normal for these individuals, strangers to the region, to be pushed back by the members of the tribe, he continued.
