Former Moroccan PM Condemns Polisario Actions, Backs King’s Stance on Western Sahara

Like other Moroccan personalities, the former Moroccan Prime Minister has spoken out on the conflict around the Moroccan Sahara. Abdelilah Benkirane believes that Algeria wants to "cut the African roots of Morocco".
In a statement to Le360, the former head of the Executive specified that these actions by Algeria are "doomed to failure". According to him, the southern provinces are all Moroccan. The former Secretary General of the Justice and Development Party (PJD) also welcomed the firm decision of King Mohammed VI who ordered the cessation, in El Guerguerat, of the provocations orchestrated by the separatists.
He also promised his support and that of his party "for the defense of the territorial integrity of the country". "We remain united and in solidarity behind His Majesty the King to defend the national cause," concluded the Islamist leader.
