Former Juventus Star Benatia Backs Ajax’s Ziyech to Upset Italian Giants in Champions League

Former Juventus Turin player Medhi Benatia is said to have reassured Hakim Ziyech, who plays for Ajax Amsterdam, about his chances of beating his former club. Which he only left last winter...
Ajax Amsterdam, with Hakim Ziyech, will face the Old Lady in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. In this sense, the Moroccan international (Ziyech) revealed that he had been strongly encouraged by the Captain of the Atlas Lions, Medhi Benatia.
"We discussed this match, he told me that we play great and beautiful football, that we are strong and that in this sport anything is possible. He told me that we could beat Juventus," are the words of Hakim Ziyech, declared this Wednesday during a pre-match press conference.
Strange words nonetheless from someone who has just left the (intended to be defeated) team a few months ago. Especially since he played there for several seasons and therefore knows it well.
Ajax coach Erik Ten Hag is also confident: "Juventus is an experienced team and can implement different strategies. This will be another big obstacle to overcome after Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but we will play as usual and we will have to be good at reading the game."
The first leg takes place today, in Amsterdam. While the return leg will take place on Tuesday, April 16 in Turin.
