Former Insurance CEO Faces Mounting Accusations of Sexual Abuse in Morocco

In Tangier, damning testimonies are multiplying against Jacques Bouthier, the former boss of the insurance brokerage group Assu 2000, indicted for human trafficking and rape of minors.

After Khamisse, former manager at Assu 2000 in Tangier, it is Ghita’s turn to testify. On BFMTV this Monday, she claimed that Jacques Bouthier spotted his future prey during his visits to the group’s call center. She is not one of the many victims of the former boss of Assu 2000, but recounts having received testimonies from several of her colleagues. "It ranged from touching to harassment, or both. Several girls told me that he had touched their breasts, or that he had put his hand on their buttocks," explains the one who worked between 2012 and 2016 for Assu 2000 in Tangier.

"His hunting ground was the switchboard, with girls between 18 and 22 or 24 years old. Most of them did not have a good financial situation," she recounts. Ghita claims to have alerted her superiors. But no action was taken to put an end to it. "They trivialized the situation, they told me not to dramatize, not to make a big deal out of it," she denounces, believing "that they were protecting themselves, because it’s the big boss".
