Forbes Middle East Names Five Moroccan Women Among Top 100 Influential Business Leaders

Five Moroccan women are featured in the ranking of the 100 influential businesswomen in the Middle East and North Africa region unveiled by Forbes Middle East, in its ranking for the year 2023.

Of the five Moroccan women, two are in the Top 20. It is the founder and CEO of AKSAL Group, Salwa Idrissi Akhannouch, ranked 17th. She heads a group that employs more than 1,130 people and is the sole franchisee of 45 major brands in Morocco. She had launched her cosmetics and beauty products brand Yan&One in 2017.

In 19th place is Miriem Bensalah Chaqroun, CEO of Eaux Minérales d’Oulmes, but also director and administrator of Holmarcom Group which employs more than 6,400 employees. Miriem Bensalah Chaqroun is a member of the Global Investors for Sustainable Development Alliance. In 33rd place in the ranking, we find Rita Maria Zniber, CEO of Diana Holding. She owes her place on this list to her over 40 years of expertise. Diana Holding specializes in non-alcoholic beverages, plastics, agriculture, olive oil, poultry, seafood, distribution and retail.

Ranked 65th, Lamia Tazi, president and CEO of the Sothema group, leads more than 1,000 people. Sothema produces around 60 million pharmaceutical products per year and holds 9% of the market share. She is also president of the Omar Tazi Foundation and a member of the Azerys general council. Saïda Karim Lamrani, 5th in the ranking, is the executive vice president of the Safari - Sofipar Holding. The group employs 3,600 people and has many global brands including CAT, Lacoste and Longchamp, Jaguar, Land Rover and BMW, among others.
