Moroccan Business Leaders Rise in Forbes’ Top 100 Arab Women Ranking

Forbes Middle East has published its annual ranking of the 100 most powerful businesswomen in the region. This year, 4 Moroccans are featured in this ranking, saluting their leadership and success in various sectors.
Miriam Bensalah Chaqroun, executive president of Oulmès and member of the Holmarcom group, tops the ranking for Morocco. She is followed by Salwa Akhannouch, founder and CEO of the Aksal Group, who ranks 16th.
Nezha Hayat, president of the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, ranks 3rd in Morocco and 25th in the Arab world. Lamia Tazi, CEO of Sothema, completes the Moroccan ranking in 4th place nationally and 52nd place in the Arab world.
The Forbes 2024 ranking highlights the growing contribution of businesswomen to the economic development of the MENA region. This year, 35 new businesswomen from 15 different sectors have joined the ranking, the magazine reports.
