Five Arrested in Morocco for Trafficking Subsidized Food Products

Five individuals were arrested on Saturday by the judicial police brigade of Tiznit. They would be involved in a case of illegal trafficking and speculation on food products subsidized by the State.
The defendants were arrested in a storage and food sales warehouse located in the "Bizkad" district of Tiznit. The search operations carried out in the warehouse made it possible to seize 23 tons and 750 kilograms of flour, 9 tons and 76 kilograms of sugar and 162 kilograms of subsidized powdered milk, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). There were also 497 empty flour bags, several boxes and four sewing machines used in these criminal acts.
Pending the investigations leading to the arrest of all the persons involved in these criminal acts, the accused have been taken into custody, the same source said.
