Fire at Popular Casablanca Hammam Prompts Swift Evacuation
A fire broke out this Sunday morning in a popular hammam in the Tariq neighborhood in Sidi Bernoussi, in Casablanca. The incident caused panic and fear among the customers present and the local residents.
Fortunately, the rapid intervention of the civil protection elements made it possible to evacuate all the occupants of the hammam and to contain the fire before it spread to the adjacent buildings.
According to information reported by Al Jarida 24, the fire would be due to a lack of maintenance of the hammam’s smoke ducts. An investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
The incident caused a strong emotion throughout the neighborhood. The speed of the emergency response, which was praised, and the absence of victims made it possible to avoid a tragedy.
