Fire Destroys Migrant Camp Near Casablanca Bus Station, No Injuries Reported

Several tents belonging to sub-Saharan migrants, in an irregular situation, were victims of a fire yesterday, Sunday, June 30, 2019, in Casablanca. The causes of this incident are unknown for the moment.
This migrant camp is located near the Oulan Ziyane bus station, in Casablanca, according to the local authorities of the Wilaya, in the Casablanca-Settat region, explain sources to the Moroccan Press Agency (MAP).
It is the rapid intervention of the Civil Protection elements that made it possible to contain this fire which also affected the debris used by the migrants. There are no injuries among them, the local authorities are reassuring.
An investigation has, of course, been opened by the police services, to try to determine the causes and exact circumstances of this fire. This investigation is conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, it is specified, moreover.
