Financial Times: Morocco's Stability Crucial for Western Security, Calls for Stronger Ties

A famous English financial daily puts Morocco in the spotlight. Considering that the security of the West depends on the stability and resilience of Morocco, the publication calls for "strengthening ties" with the kingdom.

"Morocco, which has recently suffered a devastating earthquake, remains a beacon of stability and ambition in an otherwise tumultuous region," analyzes The Financial Times, noting that the kingdom’s efforts to fight terrorism, dismantle human trafficking networks and integrate migrants "are remarkable." "Recognizing Morocco’s role does not simply mean offering assistance after a disaster, but rather strengthening a strategic partnership that will benefit both parties," adds the author of the article. According to him, "Morocco’s proposal for the autonomy of Western Sahara, for example, deserves serious attention as part of a comprehensive strategy, as integration, development and stability go hand in hand."

The publication adds that the security of the West is partly dependent on the partnership with countries like Morocco, which plays "a pivotal role both economically and in terms of security." And to conclude: "Ultimately, if we want to build a safer future, we must seek to strengthen ties with countries like Morocco that share our vision of a more stable, peaceful and prosperous world. The time for passivity is over. Now is the time to act with wisdom, foresight and determination."
