FIFA Negotiates with Real Madrid to Host 2030 World Cup Final at Bernabéu

FIFA is reportedly negotiating with Real Madrid for the 2030 World Cup final to be held at the Santiago Bernabéu. Morocco, co-organizer of this tournament, wants to host this final at the Grand Stadium of Casablanca, under construction in Benslimane.

FIFA and Real Madrid are discussing the conditions required to play the 2030 World Cup final at the Santiago Bernabéu, Marca reports. One of them is the availability of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium to FIFA for three months. A condition that is difficult for the club to meet, as it risks losing a lot of money, analyzes the Spanish media.

The two entities are therefore trying to find a formula that suits each party. In other words, to allow Real Madrid to continue to use its stadium, while respecting FIFA’s requirements. Considering the excellent relationship between Florentino Perez and Gianni Infantino, some sources claim that the negotiations will be successful and that the Santiago Bernabéu will host its second World Cup final after that of 1982.

FIFA has selected the joint candidacy of Spain, Morocco and Portugal for the 2030 World Cup. However, the corruption scandal shaking the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), which has led to the indictment of Luis Rubiales and his successor Pedro Rocha, casts doubt on the maintenance by FIFA of the Spanish candidacy alongside Morocco and Portugal.
