FIFA Chief Praises Morocco’s Historic World Cup Performance as ’Long-Term’ Success

The President of the International Federation of Amateur Football (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, congratulated Morocco on its run during the World Cup, which he says is "the result of long-term work".
During a press conference held at the end of the FIFA Council meeting, the head of the world football governing body saluted the historic participation of the Atlas Lions.
Infantino first congratulated all those who contributed to the organization of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. "The FIFA Council wishes to congratulate the organizers of the World Cup. They are commended for the efforts made to make this a successful edition," he said.
Special mention was made of the team led by Walid Regragui, the revelation of this World Cup. "We also saw an Arab-African team that reached the semi-finals. Congratulations to Morocco for its beautiful run."
And he added: "Morocco’s run is exceptional, they played well. Reaching the World Cup semi-finals is not a matter of chance, it is the result of long-term work undertaken by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). The Moroccan team, led by a young coach, showed an attractive and effective game, so congratulations to Morocco."
