FIFA Approves Zakaria Aboukhlal’s Switch to Morocco National Team

Unlike Munir El Haddadi who is still wondering about the outcome of his change of sporting nationality, Zakaria Aboukhlal is already certain about his fate. FIFA has just granted him the possibility of playing with the Moroccan national team.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation announced the good news. It states that it has received "correspondence from FIFA including the acceptance of its request regarding the participation of the player Zakaria Aboukhlal in the Moroccan national teams instead of their Dutch counterparts in application of the latest decisions relating to the player’s status and the change of sporting nationality," reports the MAP.
The brand new Atlas Lion plays as a striker for AZ Alkmaar (Netherlands). He will make his debut with the national team during Morocco’s double confrontation against the Central African Republic. He is part of the list of players called up by Vahid Halilhodzic to take part in these two matches counting for the 3rd and 4th rounds of the qualifiers for the 33rd edition of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
