Fez Festival of Sufi Culture Goes Virtual Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Due to the Covid-19 health crisis, the 13th edition of the Fez Festival of Sufi Culture scheduled for October 17-26, 2020 will be held online.
"The Art of Transmission" is the theme of the 13th edition of the Fez Festival of Sufi Culture, which will be mainly in digital form this year. It is also an opportunity to take up a major challenge, that of providing the appropriate response to cultural actors and entrepreneurs in the face of the crisis related to the Covid-19 pandemic. But also an opportunity to mobilize a dynamic of cultural and social creativity that in the past, say the organizers. This 13th edition also opens up to unprecedented exploitations of Sufi culture in Morocco and the world, while linking during the festival period a rich program with major sites of living heritage and renowned speakers and specialists.
Many online exhibitions are on the program. Also, spiritual celebrations and Samaa sessions will be broadcast from various Sufi centers in Morocco and other countries, mainly in Africa and Asia.
This year, several festivals have been canceled in Morocco. This is the case of Mawazine in Rabat, the Marrakech International Film Festival or the Raï festival in Oujda.
