Moroccan Actress Khansa Batma Wins Top Honor at Venice Film Festival for ’Zanka Contact’

The role of "Rajae" in the film "Zanka contact" earned the Moroccan artist Khansa Batma the award for best actress at the 77th edition of the Venice International Film Festival. The Venice Film Festival 2020 was held from September 2 to September 12, 2020 in Venice, Italy.
"Zanka contact" is a film by Ismaïl El Iraki, whose filming took place in 2019 in Casablanca and its surroundings. The Arab countries presented six productions at this festival which was held despite the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The film tells the story of "Larsen", a rocker whose life takes a turn the day he lost the most important instrument in the life of any singer: the voice.
But his meeting with Rajaa, a former prostitute with a golden voice, gives him the chance to continue writing songs that tell his life as a night owl in Casablanca. Very early on, the two artists fall in love in a context marked by the realities of life on the streets of Casablanca and the world of prostitution. It is a suspenseful film shot in purely western settings.
