Fez Airport Sees 35% Drop in Passenger Traffic Amid Pandemic Recovery

Passenger traffic at Fès-Saiss airport recorded a 35.47% drop in the first half of 2021, compared to the same period in 2019.
The number of travelers who transited through Fès-Saïss airport during the period from Tuesday, June 15, 2021 (the first day of the resumption of flights) to Wednesday, June 30, 2021 reached 39,237, compared to 60,803 passengers during the first six months of 2019, according to a press release from the National Airports Office (ONDA).
At the national level, commercial air passenger traffic also experienced a drop of around 78.80% over the same period.
Fès-Saïss airport welcomed a total of 75,493 passengers during the first two months of the year, compared to 87,871 in 2012, a drop of 14.09%.
Regarding the ranking of commercial air traffic by zone, Fès-Saïss airport still occupies the 5th position, after those of Casablanca-Mohammed V, Marrakech-Ménara, Agadir-Al Massira and Tanger Ibn Batouta, the same source points out.
