Fatal Christmas Night Crash Claims Father's Life in Essonne

While driving his car with his partner and their 2-year-old daughter in the back, asleep after a joyful day at Parc Astérix, on Christmas night, Sid’Ali died in a violent head-on collision on a departmental road between Seine-et-Marne and Essonne.

Sid’Ali, 47, did not return home with his little family on December 25th. Around 9 p.m., as he had taken the A 6, taken the Milly-la-Forêt exit, and turned onto the RD 372 to reach his home in Boigneville, a village on the outskirts of southern Essonne, he lost control of his BMW and violently collided with a vehicle coming in the opposite direction. "My sister-in-law was talking on the phone via the car’s Bluetooth system when everything went off. No more sound, no more image," recounts Merwan, Sid’Ali’s brother. The "BMW traveling at 80 km/h just collided head-on with another vehicle," reports Le Parisien, adding that this terrible head-on collision projected the two vehicles into the scenery.

Sid’Ali died on the spot. Called, the firefighters and the Smur arrived on the scene and assisted the victim’s partner, seriously injured, and the three people in the other vehicle. The 2-year-old girl escaped the tragedy: she came away with a slight arm pain. "I was informed around 3 a.m.," the victim’s brother continues. "I rushed to the Corbeil-Essonnes hospital to see the little one. She kept saying: Daddy! Daddy!" His sister-in-law is in an artificial coma at the Pitié-Salpêtrière (Paris, 13th). She wakes up three days later after undergoing three major operations. She is still hospitalized, as is another 59-year-old injured person. Two other injured people in the accident were able to leave the hospital.

Sid’Ali’s body was transferred to the morgue. "The autopsy is scheduled for January 7th," Merwan explains. After this step, the victim’s family will be able to recover the body of this fiber optic technician to bury him in the Muslim section of the Bondoufle intercommunal cemetery.
