Go-fast and apartments in Morocco: the long trial of an ultra-sophisticated network

Fourteen individuals are appearing in Paris for having orchestrated a vast cannabis trafficking between Morocco, Spain and France. The authorities seized a ton of drugs and uncovered a sophisticated money laundering network.

Since Tuesday, the criminal court has been examining the case of fourteen men aged 29 to 42 years old. According to Le Parisien, these defendants will answer until April 8 for criminal conspiracy and drug trafficking. At the head of this pyramidal structure, the investigators identified two repeat offenders in their forties, Mahamadou K. and Morad S., who managed the supply chain started in 2019.

The investigations of the Central Office for the Fight against Organized Crime (OCLCO) revealed a perfectly well-oiled logistics. To counter the surveillance, the traffickers used encrypted messaging, signal jammers and vehicles equipped with secret compartments. However, the prosecution managed to place microphones in the vehicles, specifying that "the technical investigations make it possible to materialize several convoys" from Spain.

The police surveillance culminated in October 2021 with the exceptional seizure of nearly a thousand kilos of resin hidden in garages in the Val-de-Marne. Another intervention made it possible to find 400,000 euros hidden in a false ceiling. The financial analysis also proved that these illicit proceeds were reinvested in real estate, Mahamadou K. having notably acquired two apartments in Morocco for a value of 200,000 euros.

In the dock, the main defendants adopt opposing strategies. If Morad S. disputes the facts and claims to have no memory of the sound evidence, his accomplice has chosen to confess while minimizing the quantities sold. "I want to say that I expressed myself poorly during the investigation. But today, I acknowledge the facts that are being charged against me," conceded Mahamadou K. before the magistrates.
