Ameur Mansouri: "The Bald One", the crime boss who imported cannabis by helicopter from Morocco, heavily sentenced

Ameur Mounir Mansouri, nicknamed "The Bald One", was sentenced on Thursday to cumulative sentences of 15 and 5 years in prison by the Paris court. The drug trafficker must also pay a total fine of 850,000 euros.

Considered a key player in the drug trafficking in the Paris region, Mansouri was found guilty of orchestrating the importation of 740 kg of cannabis from Morocco. The drugs were to be transported by a helicopter, rented under a false identity and intercepted in Spain.

The court also sanctioned his involvement in a "go fast" network connecting Morocco to France. Although acquitted of the drug trafficking charges in this specific case, he was convicted of criminal conspiracy for having directed these operations until 2011.

The investigation revealed that the individual continued to pilot his criminal networks even when he was incarcerated. The authorities in particular discovered 300 kg of cannabis resin in storage boxes that he was renting under borrowed names on the outskirts of the French capital.

These verdicts put an end to a fugitive status that began in 2012. Arrested last October, Mansouri had filed an opposition against his previous convictions handed down by default while he was on the run, thus leading to these two new trials.
