Far-Right Party Criticizes Veiled Candidate on Centrist List in Marseille Election

The RN head of the municipal list, Stéphane Ravier, criticizes the candidacy of Sarah Labidi, a veiled woman, present on the LREM list in the 1st sector of the city of Bouches-du-Rhône (1st and 7th arrondissements) in Marseille.
Stéphane Ravier mocks: "This is a very particular conception of secularism that La République En Marche is delivering to us!" "Especially on the eve of the denunciation of Islamic ’separatism’ by Emmanuel Macron, and after Jean-Michel Blanquer considered that the veil was ’not desirable’ in society," continues the RN candidate.
While the veiled photo is circulating in the RN as well as in LR, the LREM head of the 1st sector list, Arnaud Devigne, says he assumes this choice. For him, his running mate, Sarah Labidi "is a republican".
