Rachida Dati Rallies Opposition for Paris Mayoral Race, Calls for Unity Against Hidalgo

Rachida Dati is sharpening her weapons for the municipal elections. The LR candidate has called, in the JDD, those who wish for change, against the outgoing mayor, Anne Hidalgo, to join her.
Rachida Dati launched her appeal the day after the withdrawal of the LREM leader, Benjamin Griveaux. "Today, I solemnly call on all our political friends to join us. Those who have always shared our convictions, our values and our struggles," she explained. The LR deputy hopes to take advantage of the difficulties of the presidential majority.
The alternation project is a "historic opportunity to save Paris. It is essential to forget what has divided us and to come together to open a new page in the history of Paris," she insists. Benjamin Griveaux’s list was already in difficulty, before the explosion within the party on Friday, when the former government spokesman had to abandon the battle for Paris, after the release of sex videos on social networks.
If we stick to the latest polls, Benjamin Griveaux was coming third in voting intentions, behind Anne Hidalgo, in the lead, and Rachida Dati.
