Family Defies Lockdown to Celebrate Negative COVID Tests in Marrakech
Members of a family who had been in contact with a neighbor who died from the coronavirus were given a party organized by women, after testing negative. The scene took place in a street in the old medina, in defiance of the rules prescribed to prevent the spread.
While some danced and celebrated their non-contamination, others mourned the loss of their loved ones carried away by covid-19. The local and health authorities had quarantined this family who had been in contact with a young man infected with the virus in the Sebtiyne district, reports le360.
By organizing such a celebration, these women violated the state of health emergency, forgetting the measures taken by the authorities, including the ban on gatherings. Some people attended the improvised party, "stunned by the carelessness and indecency of these women who indulged in these curious effusions, close to a bereaved family".
A video of the scene was also posted on social media, "showing outraged neighbors and residents by the outrage done to the bereaved family, as well as the indecent contempt for the health rules in force".
