Fake Psychiatrist Arrested in Marrakech for Fraud and Impersonation
Greed leads some people to take tortuous paths. The story of an impostor in Marrakech, who was posing as a psychiatrist-doctor, while he had no professional qualifications, is an illustration of this.
At 58 years old, the individual had decided to open a medical practice specializing in psychiatry and psychology, in the city of Marrakech. Without any university degree and with a fake doctor’s stamp, the pseudo-psychiatrist took advantage of the trust of his patients by making them pay for imaginary consultations.
Prosecuted on charges of fraud, fraudulent use of a professional title and fraud, the fake doctor was finally arrested by the judicial police services of Marrakech on Wednesday, August 7, 2019.
Placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the impostor doctor risks a heavy prison sentence for having exposed the lives of patients to great danger.
