Everton seeks a savior: the profile of a Moroccan seduces the Toffees
The Everton club is closely following the situation of the Moroccan international striker Youssef En-Nesyri with a view to a possible transfer during this January transfer window. While Everton’s interest is real, the discussions are not yet at an advanced stage and no official offer has been made to Fenerbahçe for the 28-year-old striker.
This track comes as Everton’s attack is struggling to be effective in the Premier League. Despite the summer recruitment of Thierno Barry for 32 million euros, the team is still feeling the consequences of Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s departure. Beto, with only two goals in 21 appearances, is unable to stabilize the offensive sector, pushing the club’s management to explore new options for the second half of the season.
Youssef En-Nesyri has a record of seven goals in 15 Süper Lig matches in Turkey. Already courted by Nottingham Forest, who now seem to be favoring the Mehdi Taremi track, the Moroccan has solid international experience. He has notably scored 38 goals in 77 matches in all competitions since leaving Sevilla FC.
Currently present in Morocco to play in the Africa Cup of Nations, the player remains a key member of the national team with 25 goals in 90 caps. His profile as a finisher is considered compatible with Everton’s urgent needs, as they seek to move away from the relegation zone with the help of a strong offensive reinforcement before the close of the winter transfer market.
