US Evacuates Over 1,000 Citizens from Morocco Amid Border Closures

A thousand American citizens blocked in Morocco since the closure of borders and the suspension of flights to and from Morocco have been repatriated to the United States.
The US State Department stated that this is one of the most complicated evacuation operations in their history, reports maghreb-intelligence.com.
The US authorities do not seem to appreciate that Morocco has decided to close all entry and exit points to its territory in a "sudden and unexpected" manner. The closure of borders and the suspension of maritime and air links responded to the pressing need of the Moroccan authorities to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
In total, the United States has repatriated in recent days, 9,000 of its citizens from about thirty countries.
