US Arranges Charter Flights to Evacuate Americans from Morocco Amid Coronavirus Crisis

The U.S. State Department and the U.S. Embassy in Rabat have set up an air system, in partnership with British Airways, to allow Americans stranded in Morocco due to the coronavirus to return home.
British Airways will operate special charter flights to ensure the return of Americans wishing to leave Morocco. These flights will depart from Marrakech Menara Airport. It is the Marrakech-London Heathrow flight and a connecting flight to one of the 10 U.S. cities served by the airline.
The list of destinations includes: Miami (MIA), Los Angeles (LAX), Newark (EWR), Boston (BOS), Washington, DC Dulles (IAD), Chicago (ORD), New York City (JFK), Seattle (SEA), San Francisco (SFO) and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW). Any American will have to pay $1,485 for a one-way ticket. This includes the flight to London and one of the 10 U.S. destinations. In addition, passengers are required to sign a promissory note before boarding.
"No cash or credit card payments will be accepted," the U.S. Embassy in Rabat warns, noting that the exact departure time and itinerary may change.
