Moroccan Talent Surge: France’s Top Schools Embrace North African STEM Brilliance

"Moroccan talents are increasingly sought after internationally," said a spokesperson for the agency on the occasion of the 2025-2026 academic year, highlighting their remarkable presence in prestigious French schools such as the École Polytechnique or business schools.

More than 43,300 Moroccan students are enrolled in French higher education institutions, specifically in business schools (+65% in five years), engineering schools (+18%) and universities (56%). Currently, nearly 12,000 Moroccans are pursuing scientific studies in France, a more sought-after field. Moroccan students are more enrolled in master’s degrees (56%) than in bachelor’s degrees (39%) and doctorates (5%), the agency specifies.

According to UNESCO, 48% of Moroccan students prefer to study in France, compared to 7% for Germany. New destinations are emerging, such as Canada (+103%), Turkey (+206%), Italy (+261%) or Belgium (+147%). Morocco has recently created an Alumni House in Rabat, as part of university cooperation with France. A first in the world, it aims to network and showcase skills.
