Essaouira: Morocco’s Coastal Gem Attracts French Tourists for Yoga and Wellness Getaways

Known as the "Mecca" of Gnaoua music, the city of Essaouira, located on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, continues to welcome French tourists. They come to the city to enjoy wellness stays.
In Essaouira, a new trend is emerging and is bringing in French tourists: wellness through yoga. While thanks to its location, the city was already a paradise for surfers, its beaches, according to France 3, are increasingly being stormed by yoga enthusiasts.
Rachelle Greslé, a chef in the Var, is a passionate fan of Essaouira. "It’s a change of scenery for me. I can wander the streets and stroll around," she details in the French channel’s report. Delighted to be able to play a major role in the city, this French woman owns a riad there that she bought with friends for 300,000 euros 5 years ago. She organizes wellness retreats that cost 630 euros per person per week.
