Elderly Woman Leads Family Gang in Food Theft Spree Near Sidi Bennour

An unusual gang of thieves has just been "dismantled" in the vicinity of Sidi Bennour. It is led by a woman over 70 years old. It consists of two of her grandchildren and a minor.
A septuagenarian woman and one of her minor grandchildren have just been apprehended in Aounate, in the vicinity of Sidi Bennour. Two other members of the gang, including another of her grandchildren and a minor, are still on the run. The news was reported by Kech24, relaying information from Assabah.
However, the deplorable aspect of the event remains that this group of alleged criminals steals... food! On board a cart pulled by a draft animal, they pass by the shops and steal what they can grab.
Then the grandmother would be responsible for reselling the loot and sharing the proceeds of the various thefts equally with "the bad kids".
Several complaints had concerned the grandmother and these "kids" before their arrest by the gendarmerie. Cartons full of all kinds of food were found at one of these "brigands", according to the same source.
They are being prosecuted before the Court of Appeal of El Jadida for the constitution of a criminal gang specializing in qualified theft, according to Kech24.
