Elderly Heart Patient Left on Stretcher for Days at Moroccan Hospital, Sparking Outrage

The Ministry of Health has finally put an end to the suffering of a 74-year-old patient with heart problems, abandoned for 4 days on a stretcher in the emergency room of the Fez University Hospital Center (CHU). He had heart problems and could not be admitted to the intensive care and cardiovascular disease department due to lack of bed.
It took the intervention of the President of the City Council and the Deputy El Houcine El Abbadi for the Minister of Health to give orders to the CHU administration.
Several people had demonstrated and protested against the officials and hospital staff, who had, according to Alyaoum24, deliberately left the patient alone to face death in the corridors of the establishment.
According to the PJD (Party for Justice and Development) deputy, complaints have been addressed to the Minister of Health and the Director of the CHU, in order to put an end to this deplorable situation, and to grant the patient his constitutional right of access to care.
The story goes back to Wednesday, September 11, when the patient, who was suffering from cardiac arrhythmia, had presented himself to the emergency room of the Fez CHU. After a biological assessment, the patient was informed of the lack of a bed in the intensive care and cardiovascular disease department.
