Egypt Edges Morocco 3-1 in African Volleyball Championship Opener

By 3 sets to 1 (25/20, 25-23, 23-25, 30-28), the Moroccan volleyball team lost to Egypt on Sunday, July 21, 2019. This first match is part of the 22nd African Nations Volleyball Championship (senior/men), in Group B, which takes place from July 21 to 28.
Playing in Group B, alongside Egypt, Cameroon, Burundi and Congo, the protégés of Abdellaoui Maane Mohammed B intend to take the advantage in the next match, in order to lift the trophy on the evening of July 28. In the same Group, Cameroon defeated Congo (25-21/25-23/25-20).
For Group A, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) beat Botswana, 3-0. In addition, Tunisia, the defending champion, won on Monday, July 22, in the evening, against Chad, by the same score, 3-0.
After Egypt in 2017, the 22nd edition of the African Nations Volleyball Championship is taking place on Tunisian soil. This tournament is open to the public. For the Organizing Committee, it is a good way to mobilize fans around the Tunisian team. This free admission will end as of the semi-finals of the African Nations Volleyball Championship.
