The commune of El Ouatia (province of Tan-Tan) will very soon be equipped with an economic activity zone in order to give new impetus to the local socio-economic dynamic and efforts to attract more investment at the level of this province.
This is a 67 million Dirham project whose agreement has been ratified by the council of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, reports Aujourd’hui le Maroc, specifying that the Regional Council will provide a contribution of around 24.66 million dirhams.
This project is part of the new development model for the southern provinces and is the result of an agreement signed between the Regional Council, the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform, the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Green Economy and Digital, the Wilaya of Guelmim-Oued Noun, the province of Tan-Tan and the commune of El Ouatia.
In addition, the council examined on the occasion a series of agreements relating to the environment and the living environment of the populations. We cite, among others, a special partnership agreement relating to the mitigation of the effects of natural disasters in the region, and in particular the protection of oases from fires and one with the OFPPT to finance the realization and equipment of a specialized technology institute in Tan-Tan for a cost of 60 million dirhams, with a contribution of 30 million dirhams from the region; another for the redevelopment of liquid sanitation networks in the commune of Addai.
