EasyJet Expands Routes to Morocco: New Flights from Nice, Lyon, and Nantes to Tangier

The airline EasyJet is preparing to open six new routes in Morocco, in order to connect Nice, Lyon and Nantes to the capital of the Strait.
The Tangier hub is consolidating. EasyJet, the British low-cost airline, intends to open several new routes connecting France to Morocco, including six for Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport, reports L’Economiste.
"The new links will be operated from the airports of Nice with two weekly frequencies (Wednesday and Sunday), Nantes-Atlantique, with two departures (Wednesday and Saturday) and, finally, Lyon, at a rate of two flights per week (Monday and Friday)," indicates the same source. As for the commercial operation of these flights, it will start this fall with the commissioning of Airbus A320s.
The opening of these new routes marks an important step in the life of EasyJet. Indeed, the British airline is increasingly asserting itself in the capital of the Strait, through its new links. But with the presence of Air Arabia and Ryanair, which have multiplied the links to Europe, EasyJet, one of the first companies to operate flights from the Strait, will have to fight to establish itself.
The ever-increasing choice of Tangier by airlines confirms its position as the fifth airport platform in the Kingdom, with 5% of traffic share, far behind Casablanca and Marrakech.
