The concert coincided with the celebrations of Youth Day, held every year on August 21, Mohammed VI’s birthday. Cheb Khaled was one of the main headliners of the Rab’Africa festival, whose lineup brought together Moroccan and foreign artists.

An Old Connection with Morocco

This message continues the longstanding relationship that the king of raï has maintained with the Kingdom. Cheb Khaled has held Moroccan nationality since 2013 and has regularly taken part in official and musical events held in Morocco.

The artist, born in Oran and married to a Moroccan woman, had also announced his intention to leave France to settle in Tangier. For several years, he has explained his attachment to the country through his family, artistic and personal ties.
