Algerian Rai Star Cheb Khaled Relocates to Tangier, Morocco
Cheb Khaled, an Algerian singer naturalized Moroccan, has decided to leave France to settle permanently in Tangier with his family.
The artist, known for his hits like Aïcha and Didi, made this announcement during his participation in the Hassan II Golf Prize in Rabat.
He explained this choice by the similarity of the climate of the Moroccan city with that of Oran, his native city in Algeria. "Tangier reminds me of Oran," he is said to have confided.
According to the news site Rue20, Cheb Khaled has already completed all the necessary formalities to acquire housing in the Mghogha district of Tangier. The singer is said to have even traveled in person to the district town hall to finalize the administrative procedures.
