Tribute Concert for Algerian Raï Stars Canceled in Morocco After Family Opposition

The tribute concert in honor of Cheb Hasni and Cheb Akil, scheduled for January 31 in Tangier, was canceled after the opposition of the families of these deceased Algerian artists.
Disappointment for the fans of Cheb Hasni and Cheb Akil. In a press release, the organizing company of the karaoke concert in honor of these two Algerian artists announced that it had to cancel the event scheduled for Friday at the Ahmed Boukmakh Cultural Center in Tangier after the intervention of the families of these two legends of Algerian raï. The latter decided to prevent the holding of the concert, solely because it was to take place on Moroccan territory. The one who firmly believed in art as a noble tool to unite peoples regrets this situation.
The concert is postponed sine die. Tickets remain valid for the new date, the organizer confirmed. Ticket holders can however get a refund on request.
