Drunken Brawl Forces Emergency Landing in Barcelona; 11 Passengers Attempt Escape

A fight broke out between two drunken Moroccan passengers during a Casablanca-Istanbul flight, forcing the captain to make an emergency landing at El Prat airport in Barcelona. While the two passengers were arrested by the civil guards, eleven other Moroccans tried to get off the plane.
The incident occurred on Saturday night to Sunday. Two Moroccan passengers showing signs of intoxication got into a fight mid-flight on the Pegasus Airlines flight from Casablanca to Istanbul, which led the captain on board to decide to land the plane at El Prat airport in Barcelona, reports Antena3.
The plane landed around 4 a.m. The civil guards presented themselves at the foot of the tarmac and, after identifying the two men, had them disembark from the plane. It was at this moment that eleven other Moroccan passengers, very excited, got up from their seats and tried to get off the plane.

About thirty minutes later, the agents decided to have all eleven troublemakers get off one by one. They were taken, along with the other two who were the cause of the fight, by the civil guards who will initiate the formalities to send them back to Morocco.
On November 5, a plane from the Air Arabia company making the same Casablanca-Istanbul route had to make an emergency landing at Palma de Mallorca’s Son Sant Joan airport after a passenger pretended to have a diabetic crisis, which allowed 24 young Moroccan migrants to escape. 21 of them were arrested and tried last month.
