Drug-Related Shooting in Béziers Leaves Young Moroccan Man Dead, Police Investigate

The Montpellier judicial police are conducting an investigation to shed light on the murder of a 21-year-old Moroccan in Béziers. They suspect a settling of scores related to drug trafficking.
Around fifty shell casings were found at the crime scene, and about ten bullet impacts were recorded on the victim’s car. A 21-year-old man was killed by gunfire in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in the Devèze neighborhood of Béziers, according to a police source to Figaro. The incident occurred around 11:45 pm. While the Moroccan (born in Tangier) was parked in his vehicle, on Jean Franco street, two people on board a vehicle, armed with Kalashnikov-type weapons, opened fire on him.
Hit in the chest, the victim was taken to the Béziers hospital by witnesses. But he did not survive the shooting. Another person was able to get away with a slight calf injury. The perpetrators of the shooting fled before the arrival of the police. It would be a settling of scores related to drug trafficking, estimates a police source. This is what the Montpellier judicial police, who are investigating the shooting, are trying to demonstrate.
