Drug Dealer Sentenced to 10 Years for Raping 70-Year-Old Woman in Morocco
A young drug dealer was sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping a septuagenarian in the province of El Youssoufia. This is the verdict handed down by the Safi court.
The facts took place at the victim’s home last week. The accused raped a 70-year-old woman, suffering from chronic illnesses, and living in Zaouia de Sidi Ahmed in the province of El Youssoufia, reports Al Massae. It would be a rape on the grounds of revenge. In the past, the victim had filed a complaint against the young man with the competent authorities, accusing him of setting fire to her home.
Before committing the crime, the young drug dealer had consumed drugs and alcohol. He then broke into the victim’s bedroom. He assaulted and raped her. Once the crime was committed, he fell asleep. The victim seized the opportunity to flee her home. She alerted the elements of the royal gendarmerie. But the rapist had already fled before their arrival. They still managed to arrest him later. During the search of his home, the investigators seized large quantities of cannabis.
In the dock, the accused claimed that he had consensual intimate relations with the septuagenarian to whom he gave money each time she expressed the need. These statements are far from convincing the judge. The verdict is in: the young drug dealer is sentenced to 10 years in prison.
