Drama in El Jadida: 6 agricultural workers killed in a terrible road accident
Six agricultural workers were killed and eight others injured on Wednesday when a vehicle overturned in Ouled Rahmoun, near El Jadida. The accident occurred after the driver lost control on a provincial road.
The tragedy took place at the Al-Houanta douar, on provincial road no. 3443. The vehicle was transporting a total of 14 people to agricultural farms in the region. Among the six victims who died, the local authorities deplore the death of three women.
Immediately alerted, the Royal Gendarmerie services and the Civil Protection elements were deployed to the scene to assist the survivors. The eight injured, some of whom are in serious condition, were urgently evacuated to the Mohammed V Provincial Hospital in El Jadida and the Azemmour hospital.
An investigation was immediately opened by the Royal Gendarmerie under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. The investigations aim to determine the exact circumstances that led to the loss of control of the vehicle and to establish the legal responsibilities related to this tragedy.
