US to Donate 500 Combat Tanks to Morocco Under Defense Program

Washington has decided to donate 500 Bradley and Abrams combat tanks to the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces (FAR) as part of the Excess Defence Article (EDA) program.
A privileged military ally of Morocco, the United States is preparing to send 500 Bradley and Abrams combat tanks to Rabat as part of the Excess Defence Article (EDA) program.
This program led by the US Department of Defense aims to offer surplus military equipment to foreign governments selected by the US government. In terms of equipment, this can be firearms, aircraft, ships or military vehicles, reports HuffPost.
The Bradley combat tanks that Morocco will receive are vehicles dedicated to troop transport and assistance in wartime. They can also be used to transport guided missiles and a secondary 7.62 mm cannon. The Bradley tank also has the ability to clear roads and barriers.
Morocco has strengthened and modernized its army in recent years by acquiring Chinese (Wing Loong 1 and 2), Turkish (Bayraktar) and Israeli (Wander B and Thunder B) drones.
