Diesel Prices Surpass Gasoline in Morocco, Sparking Inflation Fears

A first in Morocco. The price of diesel has increased so much that it has just exceeded that of gasoline. In two weeks, diesel has recorded a price increase of just over one dirham, reaching 14.30 dirhams on Wednesday.
A record increase in such a short time, which is largely due to the war and the sanctions of the European Union against Russia. The price of gasoline, on the other hand, has remained unchanged and is between 14.16 and 14.24 dirhams per liter.
This increase is causing the anger of Moroccans who fear a surge in prices of several basic food items, further stifling their purchasing power on the eve of the Ramadan month.
